The CSES (Comparative Study of Electoral Systems)* is a worldwide comparative programme on electoral behaviours that was set up at the beginning of the 2000s. Part of this programme consists in administering a common questionnaire after the national elections of each participating country. Four sets of post-electoral surveys have so far been conducted in different countries around the world. The French Electoral Study 2012 (FES 2012)** is the fourth French implementation of this programme. It was conducted on the occasion of France’s 2012 legislative elections. Focusing on attitudes to politics and voting decisions, the survey also includes specific questions, in particular on public policy preferences, on values, as well as on the living conditions and social trajectory of the respondents. This survey therefore includes all the CSES variables and employs numerous indicators that are standard in electoral studies whether in France or abroad. *Aggregated data for the different countries are available on the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES) website: **
